This Leitz 50mm f2 Summicron Dual Range M-Mount Lens is a specially-designed lens for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras that features two focus ranges.  One range allows normal focusing between infinity to 1 meter (3.3 feet).  A second range is activated when special goggles are mounted onto the lens barrel.  This second range allows focusing between 0.88m (2.9 feet) down to about 0.48m (19 inches).  The accessory goggles correct the viewfinder for accurate framing and focusing. 

Note: Leica M6 TTL, M7 and later cameras have issues allowing the mounting of these goggles and restrict the use of this lens to its standard range.
