The Canon New F-1, also referred to as the Canon F-1N (capital N), is a redesign of the famed original Canon F-1. It features a hybrid, electro-mechanical shutter, multiple exposure modes and metering patterns depending upon the finder and focusing screen installed, non-TTL flash auto exposure, depth of field preview, exposure compensation and self-timer. The Canon New F-1 can interchange lenses (Canon FD mount), prisms and finders and focusing screens, allowing this camera to be customized for any job. It has a range of shutter speeds from 8 seconds up to 1/2000, plus Bulb and an X-sync of 1/90. One nifty feature of the Canon New F-1 is that the shutter can still fire at mechanical speeds of 1/90 and 1/2000 even without battery power.
The Canon New F-1 is a rugged, workhorse of a camera, destined to become a longtime friend and collaborator. It may well be the last manual focus Canon 35mm SLR you need ever buy.
This is the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics edition of the Canon New F-1.
This New F-1 is in pretty worn condition. This was definitely a well-used camera. We have tested it and found it fully functional but due to difficulties servicing these cameras we cannot offer our usual warranty on it. This camera is sold As-Is.
