This Leica M2 is a 35mm rangefinder camera designed to accept Leica M-Mount lenses. Introduced in 1957 as the successor to the famous Leica M3, the M2 was seen as a simpler, slightly less expensive model that didn't sacrifice any of the amazing design or quality of the M3. Like the M3, the Leica M2 has a combined rangefinder and viewfinder. The finder has a 0.72x magnification allowing it to support framelines for 35mm, 50mm and 90mm lenses. The M2 has a hinged back and removable baseplate for easy loading. It has a cloth focal plane shutter with speeds between 1 second to 1/1000, plus Bulb.
This is the "button rewind" version of the M2. It features a small button on top of the camera which can be pushed for a smooth rewinding action, instead of the standard lever rewind on other M2's.
