The B+W Orange 040 4x MRC filter is a high quality orange filter. The orange filter is an important filter in the field of black and white photography. Colored filters are used for both tonal separation as well as contrast control with black and white film. An orange filter offers a moderate increase in contrast while darkening blue tones toward black and lightening oranges toward white. This filter is popularly used in landscape photography as it can significantly darken blue skies.
The B+W Orange filter has a 4x (2 stop) filter factor. It also has B+W's MRC Nano coatings which excel at repelling both water and dust, with the former more easily rolling off the glass of the filter instead of streaking across it.
This filter has a 46mm filter thread.
