Rollei Vario Chrome was a limited edition, medium speed slide film that was marketed under the Rollei brand name beginning in 2017. It was advertised as having an ISO range between 200-400. Its characteristics included a high amount of grain and a warmish, yellowish tint to the images. It was only available in the 135 format.

Rollei Vario Chrome Impressions
Well, now that the Rollei Vario Chrome has been on the market for a minute now, our opinion is mixed. We like having another slide film option, especially one with a higher speed emulsion. The Vario Chrome definitely has a distinct color palette to it with its yellow hue. The film is also grainy, but we'll take grain considering the lack of alternative options. ⠀
Our biggest take-away so far is that this film exposes better at ISO 400 than it does at ISO 200. 200 results in slides that are washed out and faint - though, we haven't yet tried shooting it at 200 and pulling it in developing.
If you have any of this film left, our advice is to expose it at 400 - at least - and maybe bracket some at 500, 640, or even 800.⠀
