Rollei Paul & Reinhold 640 is a 35mm black and white negative film with a nominal speed of ISO 640. This special edition film was released to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of when Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke founded Rollei. This film is characterized as having natural contrast, fine grain, and responding well to push processing (up to ISO 1600). It has a sharp appearance and, when processed in certain developers, excellent tonal separation.
First introduced in late 2020, this special edition film continues to remain available through 2025. The emulsion is coated on a triacetate base and the canisters are marked as "Made in Italy" giving rise to speculation that Maco has arrangement with Ferrania to produce the film (to some degree) for them.
