Adox Color Mission 200 is a color negative film released by Adox in early 2022. The film is described as having "delicately vibrant minty greens, peachy reds, airy grain and a purpose at the core. The name is intentional: those small 35mm rolls are on a big mission to give the analog community a beautiful product while investing into the future of film research and production, which is one of the most sophisticated challenges in the analog industry."
Color Mission can be seen as a "bridge" film. The original batch of Color Mission was cut down from leftover stock of film, packaged and then sold as a means of raising funds to restart Adox's color film manufacturing. As of June 2022 the initial response has been very enthusiastic and Color Mission's main retailer, Foto Impex in Germany, was selling out at an unexpectedly fast rate. They had claimed that the R&D process for bringing a new Adox color film to market would take roughly five years and they had sufficient supply of Color Mission to ration out over that period, but recent information suggests that Color Mission inventory may be gone much sooner.
Nonetheless, the few rolls we have personally used here at Blue Moon Camera have left us with quite pleasant results and we are excited to see how this story plays out over the coming years. You can never have too much color film!
